Mentor Fee Structure

mentor.sh applies transparent and straightforward platform fees to all bookings made through the platform. Below, you will find a detailed breakdown of how these fees are calculated.

General Platform Fee

mentor.sh adds a platform fee to the mentor's listed rate, paid by the mentee. The standard fee is 20%.

Example:

• Mentor's Rate: $100
• Platform Fee (20%): $20
• Total Cost to Mentee: $120

Fee Tiers

Mentorship Plans under $100/month

• Minimum Platform Fee: $20

Example:

• Mentor's Rate: $50
• Standard 20% Fee: $10 (less than minimum)
• Applied Platform Fee: $20
• Total Cost to Mentee: $70

Mentorship Plans from $100/month

• Platform Fee: 20% of mentor's rate

Example 1:

• Mentor's Rate: $400
• Platform Fee (20%): $80
• Total Cost to Mentee: $480

One-Off Sessions

For single-session bookings, mentor.sh applies a dynamic platform fee which depends on price of your product. Mentor see their price and public price which will be proposed to mentees. mentor.sh charges a flat fee of $9, plus an additional $10 for every incremental $50 after the initial $49.

Example 1:

• Mentor's Rate: $40
• Platform Fee: $9
• Total Cost to Mentee: $49

Example 2:

• Mentor's Rate: $60
• Platform Fee: $19
• Total Cost to Mentee: $79

Webinars

mentor.sh adds a platform fee to webinars based on the public price shown to mentees. Mentor pricing and public pricing are calculated separately so the mentee sees the final amount before checkout.

Example 1:

• Mentor's Rate: $40
• Platform Fee: $5
• Total Cost to Mentee: $45

Example 2:

• Mentor's Rate: $60
• Platform Fee: $10
• Total Cost to Mentee: $70

Webinar Availability

New webinars are currently free to register for. Legacy paid webinars may still exist in the system and continue to use the historical payment flow where applicable.

Important Notes

• Transparency: Fees are always displayed clearly during the booking and checkout process.
• Fee Adjustments: mentor.sh may update fees occasionally and will communicate any changes transparently.
• Mentor Payouts: Mentors receive their listed rate minus applicable payment processing fees through Stripe, separate from mentor.sh platform fees.
• Webinar Payouts: New webinars do not use Borderless. Legacy paid webinars continue to follow their existing recorded payment setup.
